The Editorial of Crankiness
It's surprising how topics for editorials come to mind when you're cranky.
Why is it, when you need something done right away, and you give it to someone that has not a lot to do, you can't get what you need? But yet give it to someone that has their plate full, and they'll deliver it to you in half the time they said they'd have it done in?
Today has not been a good day. My laptop is sitting in a shop, waiting for a new operating system on it. As such, I can't do my work that needs to be done in order to get paid in order to keep food on my table, which also keeps this website running. To top it all off, my time sheets, which were due on Friday, are on the laptop, and the guy that has the machine hasn't sent them to me, even though I requested he do that *half an hour* ago!
Fortunately, we here at Dragonlance Underground have come up with a little more lax attitude towards updates. The actual update was scheduled for Sunday night, but since I was missing an important part (ie, the editorial), I couldn't launch, plus R4i5t1in was busy adding new pictures to his "collection" so he couldn't be around to change the poll, and the Guardian went out to buy eyedrops for some strange reason, putting the newsletter behind schedule, and Niltsiar said something about a magic party with the mushrooms or something. We also wanted to get an interview up since our attempt at it last month was a huge dragon patty, so Raistlhoff was out banging on doors, attempting to hunt down the lost interview.
Add to that, some gnome decided to install some sort of "update" to my computer system, causing half of the Underground site to blow up. That was definitely not in my plans, so I spent most of yesterday fixing the site and torturing the gnome. I will admit, the torture was the more entertaining part of yesterday.
But when all's said and done, we successfully update and pass out the beernuts in celebration. Raistlicious puts on a fashion show (although she shows more of her than fashion), Evil Raist eyes the pure essence of Usenet bitterness, stored in the medicine cabinet, and Raistlame does the chicken dance. If we're lucky, we come up with some new ideas for the next update and the cycle of relaxation, worry, then last minute panic comes again.
Ah... the rain and thunder outside is making me feel mellow. Maybe I'll wander outside and soak my robes for a bit. It might cool my temper.
