Hop All the Way Back to Easter
Greetings to all our loyal fans out there! What's this you say? You're not loyal? Well you must be, if you're still around to read this!
On that note, we must apologize for our seemingly lack of interest in keeping the masses informed of our going ons and our work in the world of Dragonlance Underground. Well, we'll pretend to apologize. You don't get this high in the Orders of High Sorcery apologizing to underlings and sub-standard demi-humans.
Oh alright. Alright already! We really do honestly and sincerely apologize! I promise that I will execute each and every slacker I find in the office, and administer hale and hearty whippings to those who deserve it! Of course that means the Tower Guardian will be the first on the list. I don't know what he's done to deserve it, but I'm sure I can find something!
Since this is more of an apology than any other sort of discussion / editorial, I figure I might as well cover some of the important issues that need to be covered.

Ok, on the agenda this evening: the long awaited results of the Easter contest, how we screwed with your heads by hiding those Abbysamal eggs, and the search for more Raistlins. Oh yes, and a short mention of 'Romances with Raistlin'.
(No R4i5t1in, I am *not* asking if there are any single teen girls in the audience! Go looking for hoochies in your own time! I'm trying to convince the masses that we are great and infallible mages!)
Urm... where was I? Oh yes.
The Easter Egg contest!
I think most of us were quite shocked at the number of responses we got and how *fast* some of them came in! Maybe Nilstiar was right, and I made it too easy. Oops. Ah well. I hope you all had fun hunting down the eggs and going through some of the old articles and reminiscing about them. First we'd like to thank the following participants / entries (in no particular order, and based on either what emails were signed with or from the 'to' line, and I'm only listing first names):
* Kuroi Nekochan
* Falconer (who semi cheated!)
* Frederic
* Robin
* Denise
* Darren
* Sandra
* Talinthas
* Savarna
* Laura
* Ryann
* Anabel
* Ziv
* Adhara Kingfisher
As to how the eggs were set up... well that's kind of an interesting story. You see, Nilstiar wanted to hire a magical chicken which laid colored eggs and have it travel around the site, dropping eggs off here and there...
Alright... So I'm not a great story teller!
There were *twelve* eggs in total. Five chromatic (white, black, green, blue, and red, with the passwords George W. Bush, Spitting Viper, chlorine, velvet, and Lunitari respectively), and five metallic (gold, silver, copper, bronze, brass, with passwords pyrite, tarnish, Abraham Lincoln, Third Place, and candlestick) were set in various locations to be found. Some of them were just eggs, and a few others had links to 'special' articles.
Yes, you're asking me 'What about the other two Lady Raist? You said there were twelve eggs, but you only listed ten!' I graduated kindergarten... I can count you know.
There were two 'special' eggs: a purple egg (password was pride) and a gem egg (password sparkly). Not only are these two eggs funny in the fact that there's no purple or gem dragons on Krynn (let's not start that debate again unless you want to see Lady Raist fire screaming fireballs at the nearest kitten in frustration), but these two eggs were random! Or they looked like they were stalking you, as one contestant put it! Each page had a low percentage chance to have one of these two eggs appear (and according to Niltsiar, that percentage wasn't low enough, as evidenced by the number of people that kept seeing these wandering eggs), and were linked to some of our better works!
So in order to win the contest, you had to find not ten, but *twelve* eggs, including the two wandering ones (location was unimportant, as long as you had the passwords for them), and submit it before anyone else! Tough challenge, eh?
Many people found the ten... some found eleven. Very few found all twelve. But we are glad to say, that of the people who did find all twelve...
Was the first to send in all twelve eggs! (Although he did find more as he submitted the two random eggs about 5 times each!)
We want to thank every single one of you who participated in the contest! We were very pleasantly surprised to receive the email messages from you and to see our website traffic jump through the roof!
Alright... now that the topic of Easter is done, we can get around to cooking the bunny.
A little while ago, we announced that we would be looking for more staff. And then, as usual for us, we didn't do anything! Ha! Fooled you people! No, seriously. We are definitely looking at bringing on a few new people on to the team... we just haven't managed to do up the application process. Due to the somewhat unique content of our website, we aim to have a relatively unique method for applying to it. As a result, we've successfully put it off for a few months, when we were supposed to be designing it.
Well, we will hopefully be coming out with something soon. We have the outline laid down, the questions that need asking, the credit card numbers that need submitting, and with a bit of luck the scanner will hold out, and our programmers will finish up the application so all you crazy fans can start seeing if you're worthy to join our worthless team. Hold out those hopes and hang on to your hats, cause it promises to be a fun experience!
Now a small update on 'Romances with Raistlin'.
This netbook has been in the works for almost two years. It was talked about some time ago, then we actually started requesting submissions. We received some great ones so far. Some short stories, some longer ones, some funny, others serious.
The sad part of this is that we haven't received enough submissions yet. All these amazing stories are sitting here... unread, unloved. And it's a shame, because some of them are just amazing. I would know, I've done the proofing of them to determine if they're good enough. We *want* to put out the netbook, but right now, we won't because as perfectionist mages, we refuse to put out something we consider half done. We need more contributions to make this book the best it can be! So do it! Now! Sit down and write something and send it to us! If you're late in the game and you're not sure what 'Romances with Raistlin' is about, check here for guidelines!
And that, my dear fans, is today's editorial and update! We hope to see you around the Underground!
