Candy Hearts and Beer
There's a lot going on in the world right now that we could work into articles. The Winter Olympics is under way. Chinese New Year is just around the corner. No doubt we'll get to that less important stuff. For now, we wanted to call attention to the single most important thing that's happening this week: Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day is an amazing holiday. What other holiday is so commercially enforced without religious or political precedence? Think about it a moment. If you're a man with a girlfriend, you know that you'd better have some flowers, some candy, and a nice evening out on the town planned. Otherwise, you're dead meat. It really that simple. If you're a girl, you probably have some plans of you're own.
And if you're single, you're probably saying things like "Valentine's Day is Superficial and plastic and all the idiots who celebrate it should be shot." And "Valentines day is a commercially enforced holiday, and it has no religious or political precedence so why should we bother?" All the same, you're secretly hoarding candy hearts and beer so you can get good and drunk and complain to your cat that next year you'll have a significant other, and the two of you will be sensible about this stupid Valentines Day thing. And you definitely won't celebrate it.
But you will. It's just one of those things
