Lord Soth Dead or... Undead?

Speculations are running wild as to the possible death of Lord Soth. Soth was last seen in the vicinity of his ancestral home, Dargaard Keep, when the fortress came under attack by an unknown assailant. Dargaard Keep crumbled to dust under the attack, but thus far, there is no indication whether Lord Soth is presently dead or undead.
Soth was last seen undead at a press conference three days prior to the attack. During the conference, he repeatedly denied that Dargaard Keep was arming itself with Fiery Mountains and other weapons of mass destruction. He also vehemently denied that he had ever been to Ravenloft.
Recent pictures have surfaced of Soth, however some uncertainty remains over whether this is the real Soth or a body-double. When shown the photos, a noted Soth expert commented, "[Soth] has never worn sunglasses in public. Also, it's clear that his helm is lacking in ornamentation. This is clearly a fake Soth."

Narsynia, a former member of Soth's undead harem said, "I used to sing to [Soth] nightly. I knew him very well, and this is not my Soth."
Does this mean the real Lord Soth is truly dead?
Solamnic authorities, who have long sought to try Soth for war crimes, remain suspicious.
"Soth is crafty," Sir Waynard Vern said. "We've seen him use body-doubles before. He may yet be alive and hiding behind an elaborate ruse."
It is well known that Lord Soth had at least 100 body-doubles in his employ throughout the Blue Lady's Campaign. The following picture is a confirmed body-double, known only as 'Giorgio.'

Curiously enough, no nation, group, or god has claimed credit for Soth's possible undoing. "With no leads on his attacker," Sir Waynard said. "We have no assurance that it was indeed a true attack. For all we know, Soth staged the whole thing. It would be just like him to knock his ancestral home down just to throw his enemies off the scent."
If this was a legitimate attack, Sir Waynard urges the attacker to come forward and receive the praise they so rightfully deserve.
"We will only know for certain when the attacker or the real Soth steps forward," said Sir Waynard. "Until then, it's anyone's guess."
