The Lost Scenes
Before the release of the Dark Chronicles, there were...
The Lost Scenes
It has taken many years to track down some of these materials from the Great Library of Palanthas. Bertrem made a wonderful effort of further hiding these particular parchments that Astinus had long stored away. But, you cannot hide something from a kender forever...
However, first I must offer up a serving of "Raistlin's Advising Services"(tm), courtesy of Mages of the Plains Advising, LLC:
"For the greatest amount of enjoyment from these passages, it is recommended to have read the novel in question before continuing on to said passage. The Raistlins shall not be held responsible for the lack of funniness some may experience if they do not heed our advice."
Chronicles, Volume 2: Dragons of Winter Night - "The Boot Scene"
Nothing is to be found regarding the infamous "boot scene" while the Companions were in Tarsis. I think even Astinus may have been too embarrassed to write about it. I did find some info regarding a soldier under Kitiara's command that night. He had the gall to listen at the door, but recalled only hearing one thing:
Kitiara was yelling out, over and over again, "Who's your Dragon Highlord? Who's your Dragon Highlord?"
Heroes, Volume 2: Stormblade - "Finding the Hammer of Kharas"
Duncan's Tomb. Hidden within was the legendary Hammer of Kharas. The problem: getting to the damn thing. There are still no records about how those dwarves actually got the Hammer out of the Tomb, but there is this passage about what the dwarves did after they recovered the Hammer.
The dwarves had been walking through the tunnel in solemn silence for many hours before Stanach could stand it no more.
"Well?" he finally put forth to nobody in particular.
"Well what, Stanach?" Hornfel asked.
"Shouldn't we do something for that kender?"
Hornfel stopped in his tracks, the Hammer of Kharas in hand. "Such as?"
Stanach shook his head while the others just watched the exchange. "We could at least bring him back with us."
"And how would you propose that? Go grab a broom and pan and sweep up his remains?"
"Well, they are ashes, so it wouldn't be too much effort," Kelida chimed in.
"Listen you two, it's not my fault he decided to take that magical trap right in the face. We warned him, but you know kender: all curiousity and no brains. And Lavim paid the price."
Stanach wasn't satisfied. "Yes, but he did lead us to the Hammer."
Hornfel sighed. This wasn't what he wanted to deal with. "Fine, after we get back, during all the celebrations for the recovery of the Hammer, we'll raise a glass of our best dwarf spirits to the fellow."
Kelinda coughed.
"Yes, yes. I'll also send some one up here with a broom and pan."
Kelinda let out a huff of frustration and stopped off ahead of therest of them in a fit.
Hornfel turned to Stanach. "Was it something I said?"
Preludes, Volume 1: Darkness and Light - "One Night Stand"
Incidentally, I was recently able to track down and locate the last surviving member of that fated expedition to Lunitari. Now a venerable old gnome, he has spent decades as a recluse, afraid of anybody else finding out the knowledge he holds.
After much poking, prodding, and tickling with feathers, I was able to learn that he overheard Kitiara and Sturm one night while on that expedition. One line in particular, he recalls as if it were yesterday...
Stutts decided he needed a walk. Those two humans had wandered off earlier. Although, by the look of things, the male fellow was still asleep, judging by the way the female, Kitiara, was carrying him over her shoulders.
Ahead in the distance were some boulders, and Stutts struck out for them. Before long, he thought he heard a voice cry out into the night. He continued walking, and the cries became louder. Finally, he reached the handful of boulders sticking out from Lunitari's surface. As the gnome walked around the boulder, what he saw nearly made his eyes pop out. The woman, Kitiara, was having at it with Sturm!
Try as he might, the gnome couldn't tear his eyes away. Kitiara had a great rack (for a human, the gnome thought), and an ass you could bounce a steel piece off of. Sturm, for his part, was either asleep, outright unconscious or trying very hard to act the part of being either asleep or unconscious. But Kitiara didn't seem to mind, for she was riding Sturm like he was a bucking bronco.
Twenty minutes later and Kitiara wasn't letting up. By this point, Stutts was afraid Sturm was going to get hurt, but what could he do? Finally deciding he'd seen enough, the gnome turned and ran away, hoping he wasn't spotted. But before he got more than a few steps away, he heard Kitiara screamed out, "Who's your Grand Master? Who's your Grand Master?"
