The Edict of Thought Control
Tracy Hickman. Humble Dragonlance author, or minion of evil?
Many of you know of the infamous performance of "Mina's Song" at the Dragonlance Meet-the-Authors Reception of Gen Con 2000. A number of you no doubt heard it when the MP3 circulated Napster. A few of you may have even been present to hear it live.
Yet how many of you know that hidden beneath that pleasant, unseeming tune lurks a sinister intent? How many of you have unwillingly submitted to that dark purpose?
Here is a sample of Mina's Song, as it was heard at the reception:
Mina's Song (MP3 Format, 27 sec. 417 KB)
Seemingly harmless. But watch what happened when our engineers played it backward:
Mina's Song in Reverse (MP3 Format, 27 sec. 417 KB)
Does it seem so innocent now? Clearly Tracy Hickman has fallen into league with a Darker Power....
