Dragonlance Underground News Archive February 7, 2006 Happy new year to all our favorite fans. We have some great new articles for you! Not only did we compile all the comic reviews into one page, but we're also building a neat database of short summaries of the novels! If you think you can contribute to this, check out what novels aren't summarized and send it on to us! We're still looking to release Romances With Raistlin. Yes, I'm sure you're sick of hearing of a project we first announced over 3 years ago, but frankly, we can't do anything with it if we don't have content! So smarten up or ship out! Submit your romantic stories and/or poems about Raistlin to us so we can put this darn thing together! If we don't get at least five more submissions in the next few months, we're just going to can the whole thing and call you guys ninnies. New Additions as of this Update October 30, 2005 It was supposed to be a summer vacation / back to school update, but oh no... we fooled you! It's a halloweeny one instead! Enjoy the update folks! New Additions as of this Update June 26, 2005 It's a ginormous update! All for you our dear fans, because we love you so much! Actually, that's a lie. We're just lazy sots who let all sorts of things collect before we finally got up the gumption to put it all together. But we think it's worth the wait! We have articles from the DLU staff and submissions! We have some great pieces this time around. No real major news to report, other than yes, we are taking a holiday. I know some of us are going to attempt to get some color to our pasty skin. We'll think of all you people out there in Internet world while we're spending time in our bikinis and speedos, drinking fruity punch and concocting new methods for torturing you. If you come up with anything funny or interesting though, feel free to send it to us! We're still hoping to launch the "Romances with Raistlin" netbook, hopefully in September, but we still need submissions. Suffice to say, the life of the netbook hangs on a thread, balanced between life and death. If you want it to sway one way over the other, put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard and start writing! Our janitor will be sorely missed by all. We are now taking applications for a new Tower Guardian. New Additions as of this Update January 16, 2005 It's a new year, with some new changes for the Underground! Check out our editorial for an update! We had a cleaning out house party here, and wound up with a lot of stuff for this update. We hope you enjoy it, even though the Yule based articles are a bit late. But who's to say we can't have Yule holiday cheer three weeks *after* Yule? We like to know that we can bring cheer to anyone at any time! We're still looking for new Raistlins, so check out the application if you think you've got what we want! New Additions as of this Update October 31, 2004 After procrastinating and putting things off and general fussing around, we've finally gotten around to developing the online application! To apply to be a Raistlin, click on the "APPLY" link in the menu on the left! If, at any point, you encounter an error, please let Lady Raist know! She may have a few gnomes still floating around inside the code. October 27, 2004 Our application process will be coming soon! Once it is up and we are ready to start accepting new applicants for positions of "Raistlin" within the Underground, we will notify everyone! We've been sporadic with updates, but we hope our loyal fans will stay loyal and continue to visit us. We grow slowly insane without our regular dose of ego petting. New Additions as of this Update August 14, 2004 We promise to expand our update schedule to also include those months that start with letters other than 'A'. To apologize, we bring you a jam packed update, with new content, as well as the results of the Easter Egg contest, and (lucky you!) links to all the egg articles, just in case you didn't find them! We're hopefully getting our robes back in order, so while we won't promise, we'll say "Keep checking for new and exciting updates!" (or if you're a lazy git, go sign up to the mailing list! You'll receive notification in your email that we've updated!) New Additions as of this Update April 11, 2004 Happy Easter and Passover and any other holiday you celebrate at this time! Please check our editorial for some exciting and fun events!! New Additions as of this Update March 8, 2004 Well, it looks like Christmas lasted three months around our tower. We here at Dragonlance Underground apologize for our lengthy absence. If you really miss us, you can always find some of us on the message forum (although it's a little off right now, but should soon be fixed). Feel free to leave us feedback and let us know how we're doing. On that note, we here at the Underground have a little announcement. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we're looking at recruiting a few new Raistlins. New Raistlins would do fun things such as massage our feet, fetch coffee and other sweet liquids, and clean up after our live ones. Occasionally they may be called upon to help out with the website as well. They'll have to prove themselves by grovelling at our feet for a position first. This is just a preliminary announcement though. We'll be putting together an application and will announce it once it is completed. But in the meantime, get your wizard's hats on and start thinking of some funny stuff that you want to show us, because only the funniest will be inducted! We've also received a few questions regarding the "Romances with Raistlin" netbook we were putting together. I am a bit sad to say that it's going to be postponed. *BUT!* (and no big but comments please!) we do promise that it will go ahead at some point in time. We still have submissions that have been sent to us and all of those will be used. On that note, we are still looking for more. If you haven't yet written something for it, get started! Now! Once you're done, send it to Dragonlance Underground and make sure it's titled "Romances with Raistlin" or some other such catchy phrase (we get a lot of spam). Now get moving! New Additions as of this Update December 22, 2003 Just in time for Christmas! It's the DLU special edition Christmas update! With plum pudding included! New Additions as of this Update October 11, 2003 Yes, we know. We've been busy. We're late. Heck, we're even late putting up this update which we said would be launched last week. We found that a wayward kender "borrowed" our files, so we had to do a bit of scrambling. In the news today, Roaring Studios is working on a Dragonlance comic based on "The Legend of Huma". We've had some of the artwork displayed in our message board, so go check it out! Let the artists know what you think of their work so far. And check out this month's editorial to find more links to the Roaring Studios' Dragonlance message board! Show your support for the people that work on producing more Dragonlance material for you! Romances with Raistlin is still in the works! We need more submissions from you fans! We have some great stories, but not enough to launch it yet. You won't get to read what we have unless we get enough for it, so submit, submit, submit! New Additions as of this Update August 3, 2003 The Raistlins are scrambling around, getting ready for the upcoming school year! Even though many of us are well into our centuries of age, you're never too old to learn! In honor of the upcoming semesters, we've done up an article in the downloads section just to commiserate this event! We've also set a deadline for the Romances with Raistlin netbook that we are collecting stories for. We'd like to have it published for February 14, 2004, and as such, we're setting a final cut off date for November 1, 2003. So this means get writing and submitting people! We have some great submissions in already, and unless we get a few more in, you'll never see the ones we have already! Head on into our message forum to find out more information about this entertaining project! We had some server problems this past weekend, but it seems they've been sorted out. Thanks for your patience in the matter. New Additions as of this Update July 6, 2003 Well, the summer is definitely taking everyone away from the offices. We're out on the balcony of the tower, shedding our robes and getting a tan. In a few cases, we're getting burns in sensitive areas too. As such, we're relaxing and while we have an update, it's pretty small. We figure all our fans out there should be enjoying the summer as well... not staring at a computer monitor. We did send Raistlame off on a bit of a vacation, and Raistlehoff has been out hunting for interviewees, but we believe his last attempt at contacting a few people resulted in him taking a "leave of absence" as he called it. We could hear the boogie music and the shrieking girlies over the phone though. He should have quite an interview next month (at least he *better*)! New Additions as of this Update June 8, 2003 Better late than never I say. We have two articles from outside submitters this month! Take a hint from them! Not much else to add... Romances with Raistlin is moving forward, although we're still looking for more stories! And we'd love to get feedback from everyone about the site too. Other than that, enjoy the update! New Additions as of this Update May 5, 2003 Yeah, we tried to start the interviews last month, but Raistlehoff lost Steve Miller. Instead we launch it this month! Better late than never! We're still accepting the Romances with Raistlin submissions! We've had several and have heard about a few others, but we're looking for more! The cover artwork is already done, and boy does it look good! But you'll never get to see it unless we put out the netbook... and in order to do that, we need submissions! So submit submit! There were some gnomes hacking the machines on the weekend. If you notice anything blowing up, please let us know. New poll up for your enjoyment! And come visit us in the forum! New Additions as of this Update April 1, 2003 It's amazing what we can accomplish in 24 hours with no sleep and much coffee! The mess appears to be cleaned up, no thanks to the gnomes, but still let us know if something appears broken. If you don't check the message board, Romances for Raistlin is back in action! We're collecting stories for a downloadable netbook on romantic stories about Raistlin! For more information on this really great idea, check out our forum! We've already received a few stories and the artwork for the cover is moving along nicely! Send us your stories, dreams, thoughts, anything on Raistlin! It can be funny, serious, long, short, whatever! Do please keep it tasteful and rated PG-13. Hardcore porn is not acceptable (except on your TV). We're tossing around some ideas for more interaction between the site and our viewers! We want to hear your ideas on these so again, check out the message board and let us know what you think. Most of the ideas are under Ideas and Thoughts and Feedback. We have ideas, but we'd like your input on them! We know what we want to do, but how do we know if you like it? If you don't, we need to dish out some floggings around here to keep the moral up! A new idea that we're trying out is a monthly interview with some DL person. Who knows who will be the next interview you'll see! Right now, we seem to have misplaced this month's interview, but we're going to air it! So we have a place holder for April's centerfold. If you don't notice the mess, then there is no mess. If you do see something, ignore it. We're in the middle of rebuilding (again). Gnomes. They're worse then kender, I tell ya! The poll is up and going! That was up sometime last week, but we'll keep this one until the next update. Vote on something wonky! The votes are like the points on "Who's Line is it Anyways?" Join! Now! It's on this page near the top! New Additions as of this Update February 7, 2003 We have a jam-packed update for you guys and girls out there this time! It's Valentine's month and we did a special interactive article and dug up a somewhat romantic afdl post from the past, just for the squishy feelings! And guess what?! We've managed to get up a brand spanking new message forum! It's even spankier than the previous one! Jump on in, chat with the Raistlin's and each other! And we'd like to know if you're interested in seeing some of the messages from the old board. Let us know! The poll is just about ready to go up too, but we were so excited to get this update up, we decided to fire it up right away. New Additions as of this Update December 22, 2002 Yes, believe it or not! We *are* alive! And we're planning on staying that way! It's been a rough year folks, but we're back and hopefully better than ever! We have a special Yuletide update for you and we hope you'll enjoy it! The DLU team has also grown! Check out the editorial for more details! We're having some issues with the poll and message forum, so those aren't up at the moment. But we're hoping they'll be working in a few weeks. New Additions as of this Update May 20, 2002 It's just a matter of weeks till the release of Dragons of a Vanished Moon, and excitement, dread, short nerves and impatience seem to be ruling the Dragonlance community more than ever. At the very least, you know you can come here to the forum and vent, especially if you're as cynical as we are. You'll always have friends here. The poll's down, we're trying to sort out an error on it. We hope to have a working poll back as soon as possible. New Additions as of this Update March 25, 2002 Dragonlance gaming products are returning, and it doesn't look like they'll be SAGA. It's wonderful that Dragonlance 3e gaming is finally getting its deserved chance to shine, in the hands of its creators now, and not the uncommunicative higher-ups at Wizards. Haven't we ever wondered who the heck was making the decisions and why? Wonder no longer. Now we know who we can complain to about official Dragonlance gaming. Woohoo! New Additions as of this Update February 11, 2002 What is this, you ask? Are we going to update only every time there's a Hallmark holiday? You better start hoping they come more often now, eh? In the meantime, Dragonlance Underground is working on compiling an anthology of wildly non-canon stories of Raistlin and his lovers you never knew he had. (TSR/Wizards did it—so can we.) The name of the anthology, which will be a free PDF file in its final form, is Romances with Raistlin. You want to get into this because it will have a really cool cover. And romance! Romance! Romance! Details in our forum. Dragonlance Underground opened January 1st, 2001. We're just over a year old now.

New Additions as of this Update December 9, 2001 You screamed, and we updated. Be sure to also check out previous issues of Kevin James Kage's Dalamar the Dark. The Bard sometimes updates independently of Dragonlance Underground, so it's possible to miss one or two. The look of Dragonlance Underground may change a bit in the coming weeks, but probably so little you'll hardly notice. Do tell us if you spot anything that looks plain wrong (though Raist666's rantings don't count). That's all. We wish you a happy Yule. New Additions as of this Update October 29, 2001 Just when you thought this page was about to disappear forever, we're back, with new material and a new look to boot. We think it will work a lot better for those of you on slower lines. Please let us know how it works. So what happened? Well, life happened. We can't explain much better than that. Each one of us had to deal with pressures in real life, and some of us have put up with more stress than any decent mage deserves. A few of us found a lull in the insanity and took the opportunity to do some things we'd meant to do for a while. You'll notice that the old "r" and "pg" sections are gone. We decided to do this for two reasons. First, there are really very few things on this site that need to be in an adult's only section, and those things are still fairly tame. Second, no one used the "pg" section, and updating both an "r" and a "pg" section was time consuming, as you can imagine. None of us have the time to update for no one.
For those of you who would rather avoid more adult-oriented content, we've added a little hand Speaking of articles, be sure to send us some. We can always use new articles. And since it's Halloween this week, here's a special announcement. Send us pictures of any Dragonlance Costumes. It doesn't have to be from this year. It doesn't even have to be from Halloween. If you have ever dressed as a Dragonlance character, send a picture to Dragonlance Underground. Then go talk to a counselor. Really. That's unhealthy. New Additions as of this Update July 30, 2001 So we spoke too soon about the regular updates, but we came back with a bang didn't we? This update is devoted to Gen Con, that pinnacle of geekdom, that bastion of gaming glory. We hope many of you will be making the pilgrimage to the Gaming Mecca, and so we've packed this update with everything you'll need to survive your Gen Con experience. Everything except soap that is. Work with the soap people. Lather is your friend. Whether you're going or not, we hope you enjoy our little line up. We'll be back for more when Gen Con is over and done with.

New Additions as of this Update May 6, 2001 What's this? Where's the new content/ There's all this old stuff here! We couldn't manage much of an update for this week, so we managed a recap. We picked some of our favorite things from volumes of the past and relisted them. To this, we've added one new feature, on the nefarious Dragonlance Mafia. Lots of old goodies and something new to boot! You might think we learned this tactic from Wizards of the Coast, and you'd be right, but at least we aren't charging you for it! If you still have issues about a rehash issue, please feel free to write us a complaint, and when you do, please attach a submission to it, because like it or not, we can't pump out enough content to update every week without your help!
New Additions as of this Update April 30, 2001 Apologies for a slightly late update. Updating this site tends to be nothing short of tedious. We do our best, but when our update people go down for the count, sometimes it just doesn't happen. One of these days we'll figure out a better way. Until then, we'll keep trying. Meanwhile... flamed, hacked, and delayed by papers, projects, Finals and the Test, the DLU Raistlins stumble weakly back to update. Our best of wishes go to Jim Butler, who's now left Wizards to work on Bastion Press. And we're sorry to hear Steve's given up on Silver Hearts. We're going to plug his site here. Keep sending in those submissions. DLU would like to start featuring guest commentaries and editorials as often as possible starting from the next volume. Ignore the submissions FAQ for now. New Additions as of this Update March 4, 2001 It's been a while, but we've finally found a break between battling our now magically-enhanced aphid foes and various other Raistlin-type projects to manage an update! Fair warning, there are some major ideas in the works that should be surfacing soon. Until then....
New Additions as of this Update January 21, 2001 Things have calmed down a bit in the online Dragonlance community, and everyone is pooling their forces into Tracy Hickman's Dragonlance Nexus project... which must be why the mailing list has been so dreadfully quiet. Wake up guys! Show the world you're out there.
New Additions as of this Update January 14, 2001 A fevered frenzy of posts could be found on the Dragonlance Mailing List and the alt.fan.dragonlance newsgroup this week, following Jim Butler's announcement that an official Dragonlance gaming site will be chosen. In response, Tracy Hickman proposed a Dragonlance Nexus: a confederacy of Dragonlance sites designed to pull fans together rather then segregate them. While most people seem to agree on this plan, fights over implementation have already begun. We expect official word from Tracy this coming week. Dragonlance Underground Wants You! To contribute to our site. We've gotten some great material from contributors, and we'll be introducing it in coming weeks, however we can still use more. We're looking for humorous material of all kinds. For guidelines, check out Submissions FAQ.
New Additions as of this Update January 7, 2001 The news on everyone's lips is the cancellation of the Dragonlance game line. Dragonlance Underground is sorry to see it go, but we encourage fans not to give up just yet. We've also heard rumors that some fans can't get into our site. If you know someone in this situation, please tell them to write us at Dragonlance Underground. We believe that our domain name hasn't yet registered in all countries. we apologize for the inconvenience and we hope this will be corrected soon.
New Additions as of this Update January 1, 2001 We're live folks! And there are far too many new things to list them all (Take a look at the site map and you'll see what we mean). In the future, News and Updates will give you a full look at what's been added on any given day. For now, we hope you'll take a look around and see what gems are buried in the Underground.
