Tavin's Nugget of Joy 11-05-97

Today on Krynn:

There was something strange going on today..... Solomnics stopped their quests, Legionnaires stopped their quests too, and theDark Knights...... well they just kept on being evil... But for once (yeah, right) all attention turned to the lonely mountain on Sancrist Isle. Early this morning, all the machinery was for some inexplicable reason, turned off. This was quite a shock as there has never been a time recorded when Gnomes have ever stopped anything willingly. The deafening silence was so traumatic that several small groups of locals went insane, claiming that the end of the world had arrived. A delegation was sent into Mount Nevermind, but have not been able to say anything but "They.....aren't working on stuff....." Many leaders are afraid that the well meaning Gnomes have finally banded together to work on one Great Big Machine. "It really might mean the end of the world," said Balin Fiendreaver, a Solomnic Knight.

In related news, a group of travelers have come into the spotlight by claiming that they are responsible for Nevermind's silence. According to Taekis, the leader of the group, they "found this cord leading from the mountain and ending in the ground and just pulled it up." "It had two little prongs on the end of it and said '250 volts', whatever that is supposed to mean.."

Another, and perhaps more horrifying event is occurring as we speak. Today marks the beginning of the First Annual Kender Bake Sale. Early this morning, fleets of vessels departed Hylo, holding millions of Kender with armfuls of baked goods. DO NOT ANSWER YOUR DOOR! Within the first two hours, the Pastry selling Kender had spread as far south as Silvanesti. Missing items have reportedly reached their all time high and as one disgruntled Solomnic Knight said, "I got up and opened my chest and found two upside down pineapple cakes where my armor was the night before!"

That is all for today on
