Today on Krynn:

WHEN WHAT TO MY WONDERING EYES SHOULD APPEAR....
The Solamnic Garrison at Holstran Keep received a pleasant surprise today, when a Draconic siege attempt failed miserably and with nearly catastrophic results to the Dragonmen. In the early morning snowstorm, Dearam Fosterheart, the watch on the northern tower heard sounds of movement outside the keep. Unable to identify the sounds, the watchman called a general alarm, waking his Command Chief. The source of the sound was soon revealed as a sleigh could be spotted coming towards the keep. Through the snow flurries, figures could just barely be made out on and about the sleigh. One short, rotund form drove the sleigh, which was being pulled by eight scrambling figures. Dearams Commander didn't skip a beat. Immediately he called for a special welcoming committee to be formed for the arrival of Kris Kringle. As the sleigh pulled up to the keep, the deception became blatant. "Kris Kringle" was an Aurak wearing an old red coat, stuffed with pillows. To make matters worse, the sleigh was being pulled by eight Kapaks wearing brown coats and with fake antlers tied to their heads. Dearam turned to his Chief. The Keep drawbridge was down and the gates open to allow the welcoming committee out! His chief simply nodded for him to watch on. Suddenly, the Draconic force turned the sleigh around and took off at full force. Chasing after them was the "welcoming committee" the chief had assembled, a dozen Kender the Knights had put up for the night to keep from freezing. Chalk one up for Solamnic ingenuity. Oh, and for all you Draconians out there: Christmas is the 25th, not the 24th.

SKIRMISH ON THE SIKKET HUL/HYLO BORDER-
A battle is being waged across the border of Sikket Hul and Hylo. Both Goblins and Kender have given up the truce which was created between the nations centuries ago. The punchline? This war is being fought with snow. That's right. Both nations have engaged a nation wide snowball fight. Casualties have not been reported but are expected

THE WIZARDS COUNCIL GETS THE SPIRIT-
The mysterious Council of Mages received a giant PR boost when they attended the Yule Season festivities at the great city of Palanthas. Present at the event was the entire Council, as well as nearly a hundred other mages of various orders. The big moment came when Par-Salian presented a gift to Palanthas. Through the use of a magic circle consisting of all the mages present, the Council created a humongous Yule Tree, complete with magical lights in the city square. Way to go, mages. You know guys... I could use some candy canes (hint, hint).
